Arusha Gupta, MD

Dr. Gupta is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in corneal diseases and surgery. Her expertise includes laser assisted cataract surgery, multifocal and extended depth of focus implants and the latest corneal procedures including full and partial thickness corneal transplantation, pterygium excision, and amniotic membrane grafting. She specializes in the management of corneal diseases like fuchs’ dystrophy and keratoconus with an emphasis on dry eye management. She also provides full spectrum of eye care including the management of glaucoma, diabetic eye care, ocular inflammation and allergies.

Dr. Gupta is a native of New York and graduated summa cumma laude from New York University where she also received the prestigious Wortis Biological Prize which is given to one senior who maintains the highest scholastic record for three years in biology. She earned her medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook Medical Center where she was involved with ophthalmology research and presented her work nationally at many meetings. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the world-renowned New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and she continued her passion for corneal surgery by completing a coveted fellowship at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Gupta’s goal is to provide you with the most advanced eye care in a warm environment. She is fluent in Hindi and knows conversational Spanish. She lives with husband and two young children in Bethesda.
